The Royal Hospital Chelsea is a Grade 1 listed building. This meant the project had a far more
sensitive nature than usual. The buildings still also act as a nursing home for veterans of the British
army. Maintaining the culture and history of the place during renovation was therefore vital.
We were given an 8 week lead time in which to finish the project. This was strictly adhered to, as any
fluctuation could have caused huge problems for the Hospital. Likewise, keeping the project in
budget was also a high priority.
Client’s Comments:
“Taking into consideration the buildings historic past, Oracle Managed Services have approached this
project with the care and due diligence required to complete such a task.”

There was an in-depth design phase with this project to fully ensure that every detail was considered
before it commenced. We liaised closely with all departments in the hospital, predominantly the
facilities team, to ensure there was minimal disruption during the works. The project was split into 4
phases to ensure the facility could continue to function at all times.
Our first steps within the new office areas were to strip out the premises and carry out a complete
refurbishment internally to create new office space.
We then moved to the common areas & hallway, creating a variety of new partitioning walls to
create more space for meeting/office areas as well as fitting a number of heavy duty fire doors. All
doors were required to be fitted with a number of locking systems, due to the nature of the site.
The client brief called for a mid-range executive finish, this was incorporated throughout the project.
With this in mind, hard wearing yet quality features were installed, including the solid surface vanity
units, solid grade cubicles and duct sets, all paired with stainless steel hardware. All surfaces were
required to be both easy to maintain & clean, due to the nature of the site.
Throughout the toilets/bathrooms, duct sets concealed plumbing and electrics in all areas. The white
rock cladding was affixed over existing wall tiles to minimise building work and reduce costs for the
client.
All areas were supplied & fitted with energy saving lighting, to ensure the lights are only on when
necessary and use less energy than traditional bulbs or strip lighting.

Testimonials
My client requested a sample for site specific umbrella with site logo, I tried a few suppliers for samples to which the client was not happy with the quality of the product, then a colleague of mine recommended Oracle, I contacted Oracle and arranged a meeting to discuss exactly what the clients expectations are, I sent the design to Oracle and a few weeks later the sample arrived on site, the client was over the moon with the finished product.
